I am a financial reporter focusing on corporate bonds for Thomson Reuters in London. I seek to enhance knowledge, encourage critical thinking, and build empathy through my reporting.
Previously, I worked as a freelance journalist in Amsterdam, focusing on the Dutch general election (2017), for Al Jazeera English, The Associated Press, Open Democracy and DutchNews.nl. I also wrote features and worked as an editor for Independent Turkey, an online current affairs journal published by the Centre for Research and Policy on Turkey.
In the summer of 2015, I was an intern with Reuters in Amsterdam, where I covered financial, economic, and political news with a focus on the European migration crisis.
I hold an MPhil in Comparative Government from the University of Oxford where I researched the collapse of Turkey’s party system in 2002 following the rise of the AKP and specialized in democratization and Middle East politics.
